Leno and embarrassing headlines

The Herald was on Jay Leno the other day. Yes it was during the "Headlines" portion.

Jay Leno- March 26.

Go forward to the 17:38 mark and enjoy. Yes, that's the Herald.

A LITTLE BIT OF CLARIFICATION: Joe, our reporter sent this legislature bullet in like this. It is funny because Sen. Scott Jenkins, R-Plain City replaced Sen. Buttars and his comments about gay people, which everyone already knows about. The bullet made perfect sense on Joe's Sausage Grinder blog (sausagegrinding.blogspot.com), but I guess the translation into print didn't make much sense unless you knew the whole Buttars story.

Joe now says he can retire.

Old Friends, Scrapbooking and Policemen

A few weeks ago, my best friend from my childhood, Amy, came to visit. It was so fun to see her. I miss her so much since she moved to Colorado.
Then last weekend, I went to a scrapbook weekend at the Pleasant Grove Rec Center. It went from 4 p.m. Friday until 9 p.m. on Saturday. It was great. They had massage therapists there on Saturday to give us all FREE massages. For 18 dollars we got all of that and our food.

This is my friend Colette trying to keep her eyes open at some point in the middle of the night.
During the two days, they gave away prizes. This page won the 'Most Creative Page' award.

Last night for Cub Scouts we went to the police station in Lindon. They gave us a tour of the police station and answered all of the boys' questions. Great thing to do if you are in scouts.

LOTS to catch up on

It's been a while since I updated (which is how I seem to start most of my posts lately).

It's been pretty busy lately. At work yesterday we launched a new community web site at ourtowns.heraldextra.com. It is pretty fun. You should go check it out. If you live in Utah County and want to be a community contributor for the city you live in, let us know. We are looking for someone from each city.

Also at work, they decided that it was smart to move customer service from the back of the building to the front so that people coming in don't have to walk to the back of the building. Smart huh... Anyways, the newsroom was moved to the back of the building and I got a new desk. They also built a door between the newsroom and the online department so that I don't have to walk all the way around the building to get in there.

The best part of my desk is that I have a footrest underneath it. It is actually supposed to hold yoru computer tower, but since I don't have one, it is my footrest.
Last Saturday I went to a baby shower for my friend Lindsey. It was really fun. I made her a quilt that turned out brighter than I thought it would, but I had fun making it.

This week was also the Blue and Gold banquet for Cub Scouts. Shawn and I had to do decorations. They turned out pretty well. The theme was "America." The boys made the centerpieces for the tables. They are bald eagles made out of toilet paper rolls.

There was a poem that went with these letters that the boys read.
Shawn has a doctor's appointment today. He has had problems with an ingrown toenail for a few years. He has already had some work done with it, but it keeps coming back. Hopefully they get it this time.
