Logan Clarke Beard

My sister Stephanie and her husband Jason welcomed little Logan Clarke Beard to the world June 6. He weighed 7 lbs. 14 ounces. He is such a beautiful baby.

St. George Trip

We went to St. George to visit Shawn's sister Lori and her family for Memorial Day. She and her husband Steve have the most adorable kids, Ella, Foster and Harrison.

We went to Ella's vaulting lesson. It's like Gymnastics while riding a horse.

Lori took this picture to illustrate a story. We went to Wal-Mart and all of the boys went in (except Harrison). The girls stayed in the car and played I Spy. Lori said I spy something blue. Ella guessed a few things like the Wal-Mart sign, and the sign where you take your carts back. Then she asked if it was the sign with the guy going potty. Yes, she meant the handicapped sign. Lori and I laughed till we cried.

It was a wonderful and relaxing weekend.

Scrapbook U.S.A.!

I went to the semi-annual Scrapbook USA Expo this past weekend. I go every year, usually with my sister and our scrapbook club, but my sister is having a baby in like 5 weeks so she couldn't come down this year. I went with the ladies from our club. They said there was like 3500 people there this year.


There are booths all around the room and people shop and scrap all day long. We went from about 7 a.m. (Colette, Kristy and Brittani were earlier) until midnight. After the expo, we went back to our clubhouse and scrapped from midnight until we couldn't keep our eyes open. We slept a little on the floor of the clubhouse and then woke up and scrapped until midnight on Saturday. This is what it looked like at the expo.



They had a contest for the group with the best uniforms. Our shirts that say "Why do a workout when you can do a layout" won. We won free shade shirts.

They also had a dance contests and anyone who was scrapping could go up and enter. I thought it was so funny I had to record it. The woman in the turquoise won.

Miley Mayhem

So, on Tuesday I heard that Miley Cyrus was headlining the "Stadium of Fire." The way they handled the ticket purchases was that they handed out wristbands on Tuesday, so my friends from work and I went down Tuesday morning and got a wristband. They handed out 1,000 wristbands, and the rule was they had to put it on your arm and you had to wear it until Friday. It was awful! Mine was so tight, and when I would shower, it would stick so bad to my arm.


Anyways, I was number 26. So what they did was they had all of the 1,000 wristband holders show up on Friday and they drew a random number that would be the first person in line, and the line went from there based on your number. Yeah, they drew 652. I close to the middle of the line. Then they said if you are anywhere from 200 to 651, go home because you won't get tickets. It was insanity. So a bunch of people went home. Then they came out and said that if you weren't one of the top 250 in line, you won't get tickets. We stayed anyways, and waited it out. We waited for 3 hours after they started selling tickets (one hour before). Meanwhile, many of my friends from work left. We ended up being 3 of the last 5 people who got tickets! I bought 12, and I am selling every last one of them.

Bathroom Project

When we moved into our apartment, our bathroom had this ugly wallpaper. It was shells. Seriously. And the steam in the bathroom was making it peel on the edges. It was not so attractive. Anyways, after a month of work, the bathroom looks much better. We tore out the wallpaper, sanded the walls down and painted it a really pretty light tan. It looks so much better, and I am so grateful that it is finished.

Easter Sunday

We had a pretty fun Easter. Not very eventful in the morning, but then we went to church. For Sunday School we took our class outside and read the Easter story. It was pretty fun to read it on such a beautiful Spring day. Then we went to Shawn's parent's house and had Easter dinner. We had the traditional ham and funeral potatoes.

While we were eating Shawn was using his mother's real silverware that she only uses on special occassions, and guess what happened...

He was cutting his ham and he seriously broke her nice silverware in half. "I don't know my own strength," was all he said.

Bonnie also made some amazing cherry pie, blueberry pie and cheesecake. All in all, it was a pretty fun day.
